So finally I arrived in Tallinn! Late night and exhausted from a 9h trip to Estonia, but happy :-) The city looks nice so far, and everywhere free WLAN, which cannot be thought of back home. I met Lucky today, an Australian guy, for a short coffee break - he's now going to Helsinki, Stockholm, Oslo, and many more places - who gave me some nice tips where to go out. Anyone who knows him, also knows that he immediately finds the good party places to go ;-) Ready to rock the city!

Die Wettervorhersage mit Hagel hatte uns drei waghalsigen so sehr verschreckt, dass wir der Adriaküste bei Piran in Slovenien dem Camping-Abenteuer am Wolfgangsee den Vorzug gegeben haben. Sonne, Sommer Sonnenschein statt Schnürlregen und winterlichen Temperaturen im Salzburger Land. Herrliche Stadt und keiner von uns dreien hat eine einzige Sekunde die Entscheidung bereut.

Motivation trip with our LC!
Istanbul is really worth to visit! I didn't expect it to be that interesting, full of life and flair. Take a look at my pictures to get some impressions! Friendly people everywhere although communication is bit of a problem since most of them don't speak English. Luckily we had our local guide Johannes who is living there since two months and his Turkish is already surprisingly good! All of us really enjoyed seeing him and Steffi again.
Thursday we had the opportunity to join the JUMP, meet the other Austrians there and best of all, meet Kapser and Colin again. What a nice feeling after being almost three months now back home from Ireland. Kasper and Colin: I hope this was not the last time we met!

Nina and Corinna visiting....

Last week Nina and Corinna visited me for a few days here in Dublin. Arrived on Sunday night and went back home firday moring. On monday I showed them the beach in Dublin and we went to Malahide castle. I never had such a bad guided tour, which was rather an audio tour than a guided one :-( Tuesday they did the Wicklow Mountains trip and were really impressed about that! And got totally wet on that trip, well, that's Ireland ;-) Wednesday and Thursday sightseeing in Dublin.

Scotland Weekend

My first IAESTE Weekend without working :-) Bradley and me joined the IAESTE Northern Ireland Weekend going to Scotland for four days. Two nights in Edinburgh and one night in Glwasgow. And of course, I was there in a mission, playing a spie how the SR guy from IAESTE NI does his work :-) No comment to that....
Besides that we had a great time, Edinburgh is really worth to visit! Take a look at the photos and see by yourself!

We didn't get known to a lot of the trainees from NI since they were 40 people and nothing was organised to meet... except the things I organised : Haunted tour and Whisky distillery. And hey, I met Anna, IAESTE girl from Leoben :-)

On Saturday we took the train to Glasgow and stayed there till Sunday afternoon. Sunday was no lucky day at all: We went to the airport in Glasgow and found out that we're wrong here. Ryanair departs from a small airport outside the city, so we were forced to take a cab to go there, which costed us 100 Euros!! So no more money left for shopping. And last but not least, the flight was 1h delayed, so we arrived back in Dublin at about 1am on Monday.

IAESTE Cork WE

Jipeeeee, we have a great group of trainees here, what a great weekend! Take a look at the pictures and make up your own opinion :-) Weather was perfect, too. Tried to do kayaking for the first time, and it was great. Maybe also because of the gorgeous surroundings.... fantastic landscape ... fantastic people ... fantastic city, definitely worth to visit. Dublin's just lound and so busy, so I definitly enjoyed getting out there :-)
Program was: going out in Cork on Friday, I met most of the trainees there for the first time, but short time after meeting them, I knew, this will be a great weekend with them! Did a lot of dancing and chatting. On Saturday we went to Skibereen, an acitvity center 1h away from Cork, to do archery, climbing, abseiling and kayaking. In the evening we stayed there and crowmed the best blower Bradley ;-) On Sunday back to Cork again with sighteeing and finishing with bwoling. Great weekend, just in case I havn't mentioned it yet :-)

Hihi, the first actinism came through the clouds, first time since ages.... Was a nice touristy weekend. I ended up as a whiskey tester (notice the e in whiskey *g*) in Jameson's distillery... think they didn't like me there since I was to only one of us four testers who decided that Jameson's not the best ;-) Well, hard job to be different *g*

Weekend back home in Austria

Great! Wasnice to see some of my friends again and I really enjoyed having summer, sun and sunshine. Can't tell anyone how much I missed that! I thought I would not mind having bad weather and rarely any sunshine, but in fact, I do. I missed it, so layed all the time around in the sun, didn't mind about getting a sunburn. I needed the energy :-) And of course, having lovely food again, good bread, lactose free milk, no sandwiches or fried stuff...... Ahhh I wanna stay here and don't go back!

Wicklow Mountains and Glendalough

Next day trip outside Dublin. Unfortunately not a lot of trainees joined, but we had a great day anyway and could experience gorgeous landscape with typical Irish weather: rain and fog.... as usual. But I should not complain, otherwise the island would not be called "The Green Island", thinking of that helps a bit. By the way, the tour guide was funny and did a good job.

"Hiking" in Howth

Great day outside Dublin. Howth is a really small suburb of Dublin, about 15 min with the local train, but worth to visit. It's where all the rich are living :-) And I saw a seal! Juhuuu, but didn't find my camera in my bag as quickly as the seal swam under water again :-(

Really nice trip, bus driver was really funny. The trainees from Dublin joined that trip, too. Nice to do something together :-) I'm afraid I have to mention that another time, but I'm not used to do everything on my own :-)

Film festival, Meeting with Elina

Met Elina today, nice girl form Greece, the last trainee I havn't known.

Movie we saw at the film festival was stange... BUt after talking to my flate mate, I found out, that it wasn't just a movie, in fact it was a documentation about people who are called "The travellers". These people live in caravans in the suburbs of Ireland's cities and seem to be very poor. The girls want to be married as soon as possible, years ago they left school at the age of 12 to do that. And usually they marry even cousins, that's also the reason why they all look alike, faces, hair color, frinkels,... And they love to fight, even girls. Most of these people have already stayed in jail at the age of 25. But indeed, they have money, they only spend it on marriages and furnerals. And furthermore, they even have their own secret language....

Found out that I have to organise the Dublin weekend for 80 people, just by accident. What if I havn't asked.. When would someone have told me that?!

The first day at work

Hm... what can I say, I will be a really relaxing job to do...
I've contacted for the first time the other trainees who are situated in Dublin, hope to see them soon since I am not used to do everything alone. Hopefully they do want to see me soon! And hopefully they are nice :-)

Visting Simon, 2.-4.June

I visited Simon in Northern Ireland. He picked me up in Portadown to show me "his" country. Didn't have passport control, strange, I really had expected that, at least at this border...
But nevertheless, I got known to his mother, father and one sister on friday. They are so lovely! We drove to the northern coast, saw Giants Causeway, forgot to take a picture of Castle Dunlace, went to see the wooden bridge. A friend of him joined us, nice guy, too.
In the evening we went to a pub with his cousin and the girlfriend. She's from Belfast, so although I didn't have problems anymore to understand Simon, the girl's accent was horrible...
On saturday we went to see the Americans Folk Park, lovely! We saw how Irish people used to live ages ago, went on the boat to America and finally arrived there to see how poeple used to live over there. Nice circumstance was that at this day, they showed wedding, one irish wedding and one american weddings and we could try a lot of different cakes which were given to the wedding guests...
In the evening I had the privilege to take part in a family meeting at his aunt's house with a lot of childen, sisters, oncles, aunts,... Such a lovely familiy!
On monday we did a tour to "Castle Coole" after having a typical irish breakfast and came then back home to eat dinner. His mum cooked chicken and apple pie especially for me :-) Simon then drove me back to Dublin....

.. in Dublin, May, 1st.
Charis picked me up at the airport, nice woman. Good to know, she's my boss :-) Lovely flat with one more student living there, the others have already left since university is already finished. But my room is rather small, just a bed and a wardrobe and a desk. Nothing more would fit in and this for 95Euros a week. Well, that's Dublin, the 8th expensive city in the world...
